Director Kenneth Branagh‘s epic big-screen adaptation of Thor continues to build its cast, adding Jaimie Alexander and Colm Feore to the troupe of Earthicans and Asgardians.
Jaimie is best known for her role as Jessi on Kyle XY. According to reports, she’ll be playing Lady Sif, Thor’s Asgard love interest and a corner of the Thor/Jane/Sif love triangle. Colm appeared mostly recently in 24, but according to his IMDB page, has been in every movie and TV show ever, usually playing bad guys or presidents. Or both. Just who or what he’ll be playing in Thor hasn’t been announced (or leaked) yet.
Jaimie and Colm will be joining Chris Hemsworth (Don Blake), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) for the 2011 comic book adventure. I’m beginning to wonder, though, how they’re going to do the Thor part. Will dreamy Chris Hemsworth be playing both Don and Thor? Or will Thor be a big CG creation a la Hulk? I’d rather have a big, muscle-bound human than a glossy cartoon character, but I think you knew that about me already.
