Hi! Remember me? I used to post on Fanboys of the Universe on a daily basis, but took a break recently to finish planning and executing my very first comic book convention. After planning for well over a year, the event took place this past Saturday and was a smashing success (if I do say so myself). We had over 60 artists and vendors, as well as a full day of programming, special guests, parties, live musical performances, gaming, costumes and more. Much, much more. So much more that I thought I might lose my mind and start babbling incoherently and running naked through the streets. Luckily, I held it all together and made it through. Even though we were a first-time, one-day con, we had over 3,500 attendees. Woohoo!
If you’ve ever planned an event, be it a party or something like a con, you know the immense relief that occurs when everything comes off without a hitch, and everyone has a good time. I had been awake for almost 24 hours by the time the festivities ended, and my brain and senses were in serious overload mode. But even as I slipped into unconsciousness early Sunday morning, all I could think about was Fanboys of the Universe. “Must catch up on FBOTU,” I muttered as I fell asleep on the dance floor. “Have to post new Comics Load,” I whispered as I fell asleep on the chair only feet away from my bed. “Is FBOTM CeyJay naked yet?” I wondered as my head hit the pillow and my little con that could came to an end.
So, what I’m trying to say is that I thank you for your patience. I thank you for sticking with me, even though updates have been few and far between. And I promise, starting tomorrow, I am going into full FBOTU mode, with lots of posts, news and the general goofiness you’ve come to expect from Fanboys of the Universe! Stay tuned!
P.S. How do you like my heroes in the pic above? Can I pick hot guys or what? I’ll post some more pics in the Forum tomorrow.
