Here’s an amazing opportunity for artists looking for instant exposure to one of the biggest LGBTQ audiences in the world! New York Comic Con (October 11-14) is fast approaching, and Next Magazine and GeeksOut are teaming up to celebrate the city’s exciting gay geek culture AND find artwork for the cover of the Comic-Con issue of the magazine! Whether you’re a seasoned illustrator or a long-time comic geek, they want to see your bold, beautiful and badass comic creations. A gay superhero? A dark graphic ode to New York? Sophisticated concept art? It’s up to you! Next Magazine will post all the submissions to their Facebook page and will encourage readers to vote for their favorites. The five most “Liked” covers will then be reviewed by their team of geek experts, but only one will be selected to grace the cover of Next Magazine’s October 5 issue. Plus, if you happen to be local, or if you’re already planning to attend NYCC, you’ll be invited to appear and sign your issue at the GeeksOut booth!

Next Magazine is “New York’s Gay Guide”—a weekly comprehensive lifestyle resource for all gay New Yorkers. It is available on a weekly basis throughout New York City, Upstate New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Fire Island, Provincetown and Rehoboth and 24/7 internationally through its website.
Founded in 2010, Geeks OUT is an organization dedicated to promoting and representing the growing segment of geek culture that is queer. In additon to bringing LGBTQ content to pop culture conventions, Geeks OUT also hosts monthly social events for the queer geek community in New York City.
