Prism Comics Needs You!

Want to be at the epicenter of all things gay and groovy at San Diego Comic Con? Volunteer at the Prism Comics booth! You can volunteer in 2-hour blocks and meet, greet and help all the LGBT fans attending the Con. In case you need any more encouragement, I will be there volunteering, too! You can help me stay focused on the business at hand and NOT on all the cute costumed guys wandering by. Here’s the scoop:

Prism Comics, the non-profit organization promoting awareness of LGBT comics and comics creators, is looking for volunteers to help at their booth at Comic Con from Wednesday, July 23 through Sunday, July 27. Shifts are 2-4 hours long over one or more days with an emphasis on afternoon shifts. Volunteers will greet people and answer questions about Prism Comics (they’ll provide you with information sheets); help sell books and help sign people up for free drawings for comics give-aways. The Prism Comics booth will be THE meeting place for lesbian, gay, bi and transgendered and LGBT-friendly folks at San Diego Comic Con. They expect to have lots of visitors and some wonderful comic creators signing with them, including Phil Jimenez, Ariel Schrag, Perry Moore (Lambda Literary Award-Winning novelist for his book Hero) and others. To volunteer or for more info, please write to Ted, the friendly volunteer coordinator at ted@prismcomics.org.
