“You will excuse me for saying so, but I have never seen a zombie’s head taken off by words—nor do I ever expect to.”
-Elizabeth Bennet, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Two weeks, folks! Two weeks left before discussion begins on our Summer FBOTU Book Club selection Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. That’s plenty of time to read the harrowing adventures of zombie slayer Elizabeth Bennet and that insufferable, yet mysterious Mr. Darcy. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the BBC miniseries of Pride and Prejudice from a few years ago, starring dreamy Colin Firth. Well, it’s a gorgeous and faithful production and Mr. Firth should always wear those pants. Anyway, while reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, I couldn’t help imagining Colin reprising his role as Mr. Darcy as the book played out in my head. I know some people prefer Matthew Macfadyen from the recent Keira Knightley version, but to them I say, “Bah!” Colin will always be Mr. Darcy to me. Now, what were we talking about? Right! You still have TWO WHOLE WEEKS to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, then join us in the Forum for a discussion.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is available at Amazon for $7.77 or wherever books about zombies are sold.
