It’s been an amazing year. FBOTU HQ moved to New York; Zachary Quinto came out of the closet; and Joe Manganiello went to the beach. Now, in honor of this blessed day of thanks, I’ve compiled a list for our Second Annual “And Now a Special Thanksgiving Message”. Enjoy!
Things I Am Thankful For (2011)
I am thankful that Johnny M works for handfuls of glitter and miniature bottles of gin.
I am thankful that Nightwing still has the best ass in comics.
I am thankful that Jason Segel brought the Muppets back (not that I ever thought they were gone).
I am thankful that the gay mafia in Hollywood keeps green-lighting movies like Immortals and putting Ryan Reynolds in everything.
I am thankful that since I’ve canceled my Matty subscription, they’ve finally stopped sending me sale reminders the day AFTER the sales.
I am thankful that Chris Hemsworth swings his big, god-like hammer so beautifully.
I am thankful for Adult Chocolate Milk.
I am thankful Gigolos got a second season, so I can continue to be amazed by the wisdom of Brace.
I am thankful that Sean-Z and the organizers of Bent-Con have made an LGBTQ comic-con a fabulous reality.
I am thankful that my dusty, old, outdated first gen iPad can still play reruns of Better Off Ted on Netflix.
I am thankful that Johnny M and I got to talk to theSamantha Newark. Truly, truly, truly outrageous.
I am thankful that both Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki look so fantastic in HD. (And that I don’t have to look up how to spell their names anymore.)
I am thankful to all of FBOTU’s contributors this year (Brian Andersen, Robb Pearlman, Terry Blas, Frag Dean and Johnny M). Thank you all for giving our readers a much-needed break from the monotony of my goofy musings.
I am thankful to Dan Parent for bringing Kevin Keller to life. Someday, when I’ve stoped crying whenever I’m within 20 feet of him, I intend to tell him so.
I am thankful that even though Gail Simone is no longer writing Secret Six, she still talks about writing Secret Six and even outed hunky himbo Catman as bi.
I am thankful that the Harry Potter kids survived 10 years of being raised on film sets and have emerged relatively unscathed. I visited a film set once, and have been in and out of rehab ever since.
I am thankful that I finally got my Cosmo Skeletor framed and displayed on my bedroom wall. It’s the last thing I see at night, and the first thing I see in the morning.
I am thankful that Tumblr makes it possible for me to finally view the porn collections of all of our site members, for free!
I am thankful that Fox News has declared pepper spray a food product. It made seasoning my tofurkey so fast and simple this year.
Last, but not least, I’m grateful for all our readers, site members, Twitter followers, Facebook friends and lurkers. We love you all, and most likely will awkwardly hit on you at a convention.
