Remember my special meeting with Sam J. Jones (aka Flash Gordon) at Comic-Con a few weeks ago? As you can imagine, I’ve been a dopey, starstruck fanboy ever since. So as a little birthday present to myself, I signed up for a Sam J. Jones fan club membership! My membership kit arrived in the mail today, and I couldn’t be happier! I got the gorgeous 8×10 glossy you see above, signed by Flash himself. Plus, I got a certificate listing the values and code of conduct I’ve promised to uphold as a member! It’s all too fantastic! Except for “I will not speak unless I have something good to say about myself and others.” My whole purpose in life is to be a smart-ass, so that’s going to take some work. You can join at Sam’s website for as low as $19.99. Though I opted for the $24.99 color photo and also plan to spring for the $49.00 Alex Ross artwork of Sam wielding the Mongo sword. I know what you’re thinking. “Wow, Chance met Flash Gordon, then went insane.” But I think we all knew that was bound to happen eventually, so why not? Flash! Ahahhhhhhh! Savior of the universe!”
