Warner Bros. released some nice shots today of Ryan Reynolds in his Green Lantern costume. We’ve seen the suit in action in the trailer and the recent footage at WonderCon, but this is the first really good look we’ve had. I still like the chest and torso piece, with the fiber optics running through the musculature. I also like how the black leggings fade into the green. All of the photos seem to take great care in obscuring his crotch, so I have a feeling we’re not going to be seeing much of Ryan’s digital bulge.
Then…there are his feet. Everyone seems to believe it’s a sponsorship deal with Vibram‘s five-fingered toe shoes. Personally, I like boots. Even CG boots. Boots are cool. I think the Skeletor feet kind of weaken the overall look. But maybe he’s doing some barefoot kicking and fighting in the movie, and it all makes sense in context.
