FBOTU Presents Costume Catwalk at BENT-CON

The summer con season is over, and Halloween is now behind us, but there’s still one more chance to put on a costume before the end of the year! As you may know, BENT-CON, the LGBTQ comic book convention, is returning to Los Angeles on December 3-4 for its second fabulous year. And if that weren’t awesome enough, your very own gay geek website Fanboys of the Universe will be there. And guess what? Someone put us in charge of the masquerade!

So, this is your one-month warning. You’ve got 30 days, give or take, to get your costume ready for the Costume Catwalk at BENT-CON! Heroes, villains, anime characters, steampunk adventurers, obscure pop culture references, you name it. In the immortal words of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, “Don’t dream it; be it.”

Strut your stuff, show off your costume creations and do a little turn on the catwalk for all your fellow gay comic book fans. A panel of guest commentators will be on hand to award prizes to their favorite creations! It’ll be a blast!

Here are the main costume categories:

Cosplay Prime
Dress as your favorite comics, TV, movie or pop culture-inspired characters.

Cross-Play
Gender-bend your favorite characters or dress as an opposite sex character. This is BENT-CON after all. We encourage that sort of thing.

Anything Goes
Unveil your own original creation or design! Share the inner workings of your creative genius with the world.

The Costume Catwalk begins promptly at 6:00PM on Saturday, December 3. To register, just visit the Fanboys of the Universe table at the show anytime before 5:00PM on Saturday, and we’ll sign you up and give you all the details.

So, what are you waiting for? Get busy!
